Ideal for landscaping work

Mobile Screening and Crushing NZ (MSC) is a family business that was formed in 1995 and Dan Meikle, operations manager, says the Terex EvoQuip Colt 600 mobile scalping screen is making a significant contribution to the country’s landscaping market.

Total Soil, a North Shore-based company in Auckland, supplies of bulk unscreened/screened topsoil and other products and works alongside major civil work contractors, developers, roading companies and councils. The company recently added Terex Colt 600 to its fleet.

The company bought the screen 12 months ago primarily for processing of topsoil, however, the scalper is suitable for a range of applications including sand, aggregates, and bark.

For Total Soil, the Colt 600 has proven its high-capacity screening capabilities, says the company. The six G-Force of acceleration at which the screen box moves to the top and returns to the bottom of its respective stroke aids the scalper to produce very high production.

The compact size of the Colt 600 is ideal in urban environments and built-up areas and where noise pollution can be an issue. The screen is compact and has been specifically designed for operators for whom versatility, manoeuvrability, and transportability are of key importance. It’s strong enough to withstand the toughest of applications.

“The Colt 600 will enhance the productivity for any contractor, and we have it in stock, for sale, and it can be rented from our extensive rental fleet,” says Dan.

In addition to the Terex Evoquip range of compact crushing and screening products, MSC offers the Terex Ecotec range of shredders, trommel screens, and conveyors.

MSC also offers the market-leading Lloyd Engineering screening buckets that attach to various sized excavators. The Colt 600 scalping screen is currently in stock for sale and can be rented from MSC’s extensive rental fleet.

The Colt 600 is described as an aggressive heavy-duty incline two-deck forward-facing scalping screen that can work in aggregates, sand and gravel, topsoil, construction demolition, and recycling applications.

Features include: high-capacity up to 280tph; a maximum feed size 300mm; ultra-low fuel consumption with optimised hydraulics; rapid conversion from three-way split to two-way split; heavy-duty single shaft incline screen box with adjustable stroke; a versatile unit for three-way splitting, stockpiling, or scalping before or after a crusher; variable speed hopper; and variable speed on mid-grade and oversize as standard.

There is also a large range of screen media available, including bofor bars, finger screens, woven mesh, and punch plates.
