TransDiesel has bought Nelson-based Translog Services, which was formed in 1992 as a parts and service company operating in the Nelson/Marlborough region.
The company was then bought by Rowan & Julie Coutts in 1996.
In 2006 Translog Services relocated to its current site with the construction of a large purpose-built workshop in Brightwater alongside State Highway 6.
The company has since developed into a leading construction and forestry maintenance business and, as a trading dealership for TransDiesel, held service agencies for Volvo and Yanmar construction equipment.
Last month (April) TransDiesel took over the business as a going concern complete with all staff and operational management and will continue to operate from the existing site in Nelson.
“We have had a longstanding relationship with Translog as our sub dealer in the Nelson and Marlborough region and we are confident that with the on-going growth in that region our purchase will strengthen our presence there,” says TransDiesel CEO Mike McKessar.
“Our purchase of Translog shows continued confidence in the industry and the value we place on expanding our regional service capability.”
