Flood Damage on SH6

SH6 on the West Coast was closed last Thursday- Feb 21st, after a sudden downpour sent tons of debri cascading down a creek bed and across a 500 metre stretch of road.

Local contracting crews spent two full days clearing up almost 40,000 cubic metres of mud, trees and gravel. This video clip was taken during an initial damage assessment.

The road is open again although conditions apply.
