Invercargill has a new playground and there are no swings and slides in sight.
Dig This Invercargill, New Zealand’s first heavy equipment playground, officially opened to the public on October 2nd.
The giant playground is the brainchild of Ed Mumm, a Southland local who opened Dig This in Colorado and then replicated the concept in Las Vegas.
Now Munn has bought the idea back home. Visitors to the Invercargill playground will be able to not only challenge their skills with trench-digging and stacking giant tyres, they’ll be able to unleash energy smashing up wrecked car bodies supplied by a local car wrecker.
“Kids.. we’re off to the playground!”
